Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Permanent Disabilities

If you require post-secondary education-related costs associated with your permanent disability, you may be eligible to receive the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Permanent Disabilities.

This grant offers up to $8,000 per academic year (August 1 to July 31) for each year of full-time or part-time studies (including undergraduate and graduate levels), provided you continue to meet the eligibility criteria.

The assistance provided under this grant is separate from your assessed need and designed to offset the additional expenses related to your disability. To be considered for this grant, you must submit the Application for Grants for Services and Equipment for Students with Permanent Disabilities PDF Icon (2.3 MB).

Students decide when to purchase the needed equipment. Prior to funding being issued for each successive semester or academic year, receipts must be provided as proof of purchase of equipment and/or proof of access to services for previously approved funding.

Further information on how to apply is available by calling (709) 729-5849 or 1-888-657-0800 or Email: studentaid@gov.nl.ca.
